Brake Component Identification

WILLIAM PARDIE

I seem to be developing  reputation from not knowing what is going on.  Believe me I am working hard to achieve that.

On returning from.Collonsville I felt that I should spend some time attempting to approach Lester Bruer's level of organizatiion.  I came across a bagof brake component castings.  Can anyone identify the  manufaturer and provide a Roseta
stone got the various brake housing?

Thanks for any help.

I don't know whose that is but it is a nice set of components.  Really like the fulcrum or whatever it is called.

Sorry, No. not Tichy.

The set in Bill's photo is from the Grandt Line set. There was another sprue made of delrin that had levers and rods, etc, that made up the set.
This set was also marketed by DA.

This has been discussed many times on this list. Just try Grandt Line AB in the archives and you'll be surprised how much comes up.

Hope this helps,
Dan Smith

Bill,

That is from the original Detail Associates/Grandt line “AB” Brake set.  The list archives will supply information on the components as will Gene Green’s brake information within the files section.

I think DA and Grandt Line both sold that AB brake set design but I think DA used a
slippery resin that shot better in the mold. Or maybe that mold is a little worn out.

This Moloco assortment may help identify the brake housings.

THAT is a great example of an injection molding runner withThe sub-runner diameters getting smaller as they branch off from the primary runner.  This is done to provide good flow of the melted resin to the molded parts.
