“Ajax trucks were a cast steel pedestal truck from ASF. While they weren't unique to Southern, they don't appear to have been very common. Pedestal trucks generally fell out of favor shortly after the ToC.
Bob Karig's Coal Cars book has a fairly extensive overview of truck designs, which I think may include Ajax. I can't confirm that recollection because my copy of the book is still in storage, unfortunately.”

They appear to be Ajax cast trucks, which we've discussed before. I like the way the side stakes are cut at an angle on top and capped with a sidinf board, a detail I don't recall seeing before.
