Nope! This is out of the box The end grabs and sill steps are useable as is the brake wheel. I used a couple of the printed grabs on this end just to try them. They are useable but I went with the Tichy 18” drop grabs for operation session durability Joe Binish On Tue, Sep 20, 2022 at 10:50 PM Tim O'Connor <timboconnor@...> wrote:

Ask Mike at Soo Parts. That is a great point. I think he should be able to make that available as it is printed separately from the body of the gondola Joe Binish

Thanks Joe! The ends are ...... but I agree with Clark that's a nice Superior brake wheel I really think the end needs work! But with 3-D print, that's just a change to the digital file right ? :-) Unless - the end is the same height as the Detail Associates dreadnaught end. Then it's just a matter of slicing off the ends, and replacing with DA parts. What is the height of the sides of this car? On 9/21/2022 1:22 PM, Joseph wrote:

Great-looking model, Joe....3-D printing is making its mark!
Question: Is that 40 links-per-inch brake chain going to the wheel, or is it smaller? Chuck Greene St. Charles, IL |

I really think the end needs work! This is going to be a problem with 3D printing. Up to this point there were only a limited number of sources for these parts... and we've discussed their accuracy or shortcomings to death on this list and others. But now anyone with the buck$ for a printer can put product out... whether he has the 3D modeling skill or the software to do the job... or not. On the plus side, rework is a lot cheaper than it was when committed to steel, so gentle chiding and frank criticism may yield results. Dennis Storzek |

The CNW Historical Society commissioned a Superior Brake wheel set almost 20 years ago when they commissioned a special run of the MSTL 53000 series boxcar kit. These cars were repaints and were all green except the underframe, which was black. They had yellow stenciling. The kit and the Superior brake wheel were done by Red Caboose. The CNWHS also sold the brake wheel assembly separately https://cnwhs.org/wp1/product/ho-superior-brake-wheel-set-of-3/ But they have long been out of stock.
The mold exists at Intermountain, who now has the Red Caboose assets. Contact them and encourage them to rerun it.
