Last of my Mopac SS boxcars
John
Ed Hawkins recommended using TruColor 188 which is labeled as a MKT freight car brown. I add a few drops of ART yellow to lighten it up. -- Charlie Duckworth Omaha, Ne. |

Interesting variant in roof treatment. Also glad to see the roof walk looks a little battered and uneven in the proto photo. Layout looks wonderful.

Those MoPac cars look great Charlie. I have two MoPac cars on the workbench right now. What color did you use? I’ve been using Tru Color but it’s awfully dark.
Thanks, John Golden |

You’re probably thinking “thank God he’s finally finished posting Mopac boxcars”. Here’s my last Sunshine Models MP SS boxcar. I’d dug out four photos Joe Collias had printed for me as reference for decal placement and noticed one of the cars had the two end panels replaced. Nice variation to the string of similar cars. Note too the seam cap is also unpainted on one end. I added a couple views of my Eldon, Missouri Rock Island yard still need to add a stock yard by the grain elevator
