Seaboard-Coast Line Modeler Issue 30 now online

Justin May

Folks,
For those interested in modeling the ACL, SAL, SCL and affiliated railroads, the ACL & SAL Historical Society has recently released a new issue of the acclaimed Seaboard-Coast Line Modeler. The issue is available for download at the following link:

It has taken a few years to get back on track, however, we hope you enjoy this issue and there are several articles related to diesels, freight cars, and passenger cars in this newest issue, Issue 30. If anyone would care to share any comments, please feel free to contact me off-list.

Thank you,
Justin May

Justin,

Great effort, it looks fantastic. I know how much work went into that publication. Thank you.

Ray, thanks for mentioning the ventilated boxcar article - but to clarify, this article was in issue 30:3, 3rd Quarter 2013, of the ACL & SAL HS print publication, Lines South, which covers prototype information only. The new Seaboard-Coast Line Modeler is an online publication and is about modeling, although many articles do include some prototype information as well.

Unfortunately the 3rd Q 2013 Lines South back issues are sold out, however we are working on a DVD that should include that issue and others to catch up beyond our currently available DVD that has issues from 3rd Q 1999 through 2012. That one (along with available print back issues) is in our catalog at https://aclsal.square.site/shop/8

Any questions, please post them.

Bruce,
Thank you for the compliments. Rest assured, we will run some future articles for various freight cars from the late teens and early 1920s, along with others. I hope the issue meets expectations and our future issues should be more inclusive of freight car content from the steam era, baby boomer era, and modern freight car era. I appreciate your comment and thank you.

Justin thanks for sending the Blogs, very interesting modeling.  Well done
I have attached some photos of vent cars, Westerfield and Sunshine, nothing special but I do enjoy the Y'all road freight cars from the early to mid 1950's
