Seaboard AF-4 finished
Dave Boss
Hi Charlie Thanks for the info. I never thought of using tape to remove a decal. What a great tip. You did a great job replacing the herald. Dave Here’s the Seaboard Railroad replacement emblem. Once I pulled up the railway version I had a glossy circle where the old decal was. I just cut closely to the replacement one with a small scissors and single edge razor blade so I knew it would fit. Laid down some Microsol Red let it dry, hit with gloss to hide the edges and once it dried a light coat of my custom Dullcote mix to match the rest of the decals. |

Tangent makes a 1948 PS-1 car body with a 14 foot door opening now. This is for a rebuild of the 6 foot door PS-1 so the prototype did just what Charlie did to the Kadee model. https://www.tangentscalemodels.com/product/undec-kit-union-pacific-body-40-ps-1-combination-door-boxcar/ On 10/4/2022 5:14 AM, Charlie Duckworth via groups.io wrote: Dave --

Ed Hawkins reminded me Kadee also made a 1948-49 carbody with a 7’ door decorated as New Haven 3 years ago and has since been out of production. Obviously the 6’ version was easier to locate for my Seaboard conversion. -- Charlie Duckworth Omaha, Ne. |

Well done Charlie, good looking car.

Yes, Kadee only makes the 1948 carbody in the 6’ RTR version. I had to remove the door tracks and replace with Evergreen styrene and Archer rivets. -- Charlie Duckworth Omaha, Ne. |

A really nice job. I would assume a RTR 6ft door car? Again great model.
