Rapido X-3 Tank cars--Hand Rails

I’ve never had to resort to pipe joint tubes since using PS stanchions. It’s not all that difficult to cut and fit wire ends into the two wide stanchions placed on the ends of opposite sides.

I was just looking over this site and they have stainless steel 'mandrel' wire in sizes from .005'' on up in one thousandth increments, including .019''. Look under 316 straight wire.

Chuck, Des Plaines used to sell "hypodermic" tubing in many sizes - perfect for those pipe joints. :-) On 10/6/2022 12:57 PM, Chuck Cover wrote:

Group,
I use Tichy #1103 phosphor bronze wire, .020, for the hand rails on resin kit built, as well as repaired plastic, tank cars. I join the end railings and the side railings with a 20 gauge needle.
