dreadnaught ends (was Pacific Fruit Express Aluminum Refrigerator Car PFE 45698)
And comparing the R-40-14 ends to the R-40-25 ends we see the characteristic change in the topmost major rib that occured about 1949 and model companies have mostly ignored (with the exception of one of the Accurail models). This later version of the dreadnaught end was applied to a lot of refrigerator cars! Even resin models have gotten it wrong. There's also a thin rib at the very top, but I haven't checked to see how often that was included. Would be a good candidate for Yarmouth resin castings, or a 3-D print. :-) On 10/12/2022 2:22 AM, Fred Jansz wrote: Dan, here's another one. --
