GN 3592

Richard Remiarz

Thank you to everyone for all of the nice comments on my model of GN 3592.  I am also working on a model of a GN 3000-3499 series 40’ double door boxcar.  I will post photos when it is completed.

Surprising how nice the stenciling is on that model. Well done as always Rich. Keep your eye on Joe next ops  ;  ))

Impressive what can be done with an old kit that was originally far from modern standards! And I’m glad it wasn’t me doing the decals on the door. Nice one, Rich.

Really good looking car build. Excellent decal work over the door. Neat prototype too.

Greetings,

I just finished GN 3592.  This is an old McKean kit.  The roof was replaced with a shortened Branchline 50’ overhanging diagonal panel roof and the side sills were modified to match the 3500 series cars.  The car was upgraded with modern detail parts including a Kadee running board and Tangent Universal hand brake.  A Universal Rotary Slack Adjuster was also added.  The car is very lightly weathered to represent a car that is only 3 months old.

Fantastic work Rich, as always!  Thank you for sharing.  The paint scheme with the large slant serif lettering over the doors is a favorite of mine.

Hey Rich,
That car should not be unattended on the mainline!   Isn’t the Red River due?🤪
