Yes, as Andy points out, the steam era bifurcated end is essentially the other side of an inset early dreadnaught end.

Look at one of these "bifurcated" ends from the inside and you will discover a really familiar shape. I would think of these as reversed stamped Dreadnaught ends.

Yes, but the rib is the wrong shape for the rib in the original post which is narrow in the middle with flared ends. It's a pattern seen on some steam era gon ends.

I believe the rib pattern of the Cannon end is entirely post steam era.
