Tim,

Yes they were. The earlier ones were built in 1942 at CB&Q Galesburg.

The CB&Q cars' decks were 1'6" longer than the NP cars 52'0" decks, but it's close enough. :-)

The CB&Q series 92000-92399 were identical, were they not ? The ORER lists them all together as 92000-92799 - a huge class of flat cars!

Group, The Burlington had near identical 52' flats like the NP & SP&S. They were classified as FM-12. There are minor differences notably where the deck lines up with the stake pockets. The FM-14 is a different animal. Chad Boas makes the FM-14 and Jerry Hamsmith makes the decals.

I know someone who is looking for CB&Q decals that will do this car. He bought the resin kit at the St. Louis RPM this summer. He's been unsuccessful in finding any of the correct decals.

Not a steam era photo, but the press in this photo is obviously well used so probably dates from the steam era. It would
make a noteworthy load for a flat car. I think these CB&Q flats were nearly identical to the NP cars first offered in brass
from W&R, and then from Aaron Gjermundsen as Northern Scale Models, and then from Speedwitch.
