Central of Georgia door and a half boxcars?
Todd Horton
They are 10' Youngstown doors for the 40' and 50' cars other than 25 40' cars that got Superior doors. The Red Caboose 37' AAR 40' car has the correct 6' door in the kit. They also had a piece of 10" channel iron with the ends cut tapered under the doors as added support for the larger door opening. Todd Horton

Is the 6 foot door available anywhere? The 4 foot doors could be made from it relatively easily.

John,
Thank you.
My Speedwitch kit kit did not come with any doors (Clark Propst had the same problem), and Ted did not respond to my email inquiring how to obtain either set of doors. This is why my email was sent to the group.
If you have a set that you are willing to sell me, let me know the price and postage cost.
Thank you.

Sunshine offered the doors as a mini kit and gave them to Naperville attendees back a while ago

"The model’s trucks roll on hard steel sintered rib-back wheels with ball-bearings and have working journal covers." Wow. That's going the extra distance, for sure. :-) On 12/21/2022 12:04 PM, Brad Andonian via groups.io wrote:

FWIW, here is a link to Protocrafts exquisite o scale model of the 40’ car. I have it and it’s exceptional. Brad Andonian

Ken, I'll get downstairs today and look for a spare set. When Ted Culotta marketed the 50-ft car, he purposefully added a second set of doors to the kit for those modelers that wanted to make the 40-ft version on their own. Therefore anyone who has the Speedwitch kit should have an additional set of doors. I built my 50-ft car a few years ago and should have the second set of doors. I'll send an update tonight. Very familiar with the "C" Line. Those 4' doors are hard to find, I bought a stash of them when they were available from Sunshine. I kept hoping that Speedwitch would offer them as a mini kit like Sunshine did at one time. Todd Horton, On the "C" line in Rome Ga

Ken, are you looking to model a C of G car or a USN / DODX car? The reason I ask is because the door openings are different for these cars. The C of G cars used 6' and 4' doors while the USN cars were 6' and 3' doors. Todd Horton

Negative, Scott--that's one of the few early PS double-door cars referenced in Ed Hawkins' series of car rosters. The Central cars had 4-5 dreadnaught ends and fewer panels on each side of the door (five to the left, I believe six on the right). Good thinking though!

Here is what the car may have looked like originally. I think Pressed Steel Car was the builder. On 12/19/2022 3:32 PM, Scott wrote: These photos where posted in a group on Facebook today. Speedwitch offered this car as an HO Kit 107.3 awhile back in an As Built and 1950's Version Decaled for C of G.
