Hi Lester! Not sure why I have this one but it might help. Note that the routing board has vertical boards, not the more common horizontal. Good luck with your modifications. You always do good work. Thank you Seth...I now know how to look up photos of freight cars in the NYC Historical Society Archives. I have a project to turn an IM foobie lot 765-B PS-1 sitting in the stash into something a bit more accurate for 1951-3 as EB/WB overhead traffic on the SP part of the Overland route at Port Costa, California.

Group, From a modelers standpoint, National Scale Car has the former Speedwitch decal line. Set D107 includes a car from that lot, 703-B (not 702-B) Rich Christie

It looks like the 1073 cars in the series had different doors when built, it’s also very possible that different hand brakes and trucks were used through the series. I would have to look at the specialities list to determine those, which are not online…yet. As Terry pointed out there builders photos in the New York Central System Historical Society’s digital archive available on line. Many of these cars were equipped with loading devices, assigned to special service and renumbered in the 84000 and 87000 numbers. Photos of the equipped cars, a special clear sided demonstration box and one in service photo are also in the archives.
