Atlas re-releasing their steel rebuilt box cars

To even be close with Atlas you have 3 railroads that the cars can be a stand in for. The railroads are:

1. Atlantic Coast Line
2. Charleston and Western Carolina Railway (C&WC)
3. Missouri Kansas and Texas

Unfortunately, I don't think Atlas has released the car in any appropriate scheme.

I have a couple of the earlier kits that I never built after reading about how bad they were here. Are any of these new cars prototypical?

The model is probably killing the market for accurate RTR rebuilds as discussed kat week since many people “have them already” sadly.

Wishing they would rerun these NP cars. Can be made pretty accurate with a straight sidesill.

These mouldings aren't a model of any one car, they are a combination of features that no prototype USRA rebuild had.  Big railroad or small railroad, you can't roster something that never existed. Sounds like a last-ditch attempt to flog these cars by painting them in obscure RR names.

The Georgia RR one was a rebuild of an ARA car. But for a start, the Atlas has the wrong roof- Georgia ARA rebuilds had rectangular or diagonal panel roofs. I am not going to search back and find out how else it is wrong, but there will be more than one error I am sure.

Does it have a fishbelly underframe?  This is not apparent in the model photos that I was able to find online.

These rebuilds were originally USRA double-sheathed boxcars from SL-SF 127000-130499; however, not all cars were rebuilt, and the original DS, rebuilt steel cars, and unrelated backfills due to wreck replacements were lumped into the same series, making these a bit challenging to track in the ORERs.

I was not referring specifically to the Frisco cars but rather to the intentions of the Atlas model?
I thought someone had said it was a rebuild of the mid 1920's ARA cars. But I guess those would
not have fishbelly underframes. :-\

According to my 1953 ORER, most of these railroads did not have boxcars with the road numbers shown in the links.  In fact, Chicago West Pullman & Southern didn't even have any boxcars at that point.  Don't know if they existed prior or after 1953 for these railroads, or if they truly are pure fantasy cars.

Of this latest batch from Atlas, only the PC car has any chance at all of being right (It would have been through NYC).  And I wouldn't hold my breath on that one.

The PC car is lettered as an ex-PRR X29G. Not even close (although it is closer than anything NYC had).

What's an estimate of the Atlas rebuild car's IH ? (I don't own one nor have I seen one here in England.)

The Georgia ARA rebuild I think retained the 8'6" IH of the original - the rebuilds look extraordinarily low beside other cars and RPCYC #18 doesn't say different.
