At wit's end
Jared Harper
I am sorry to interject this off topic question but I am at my wit's end. I am using photo backdrops on my Santa Fe's Alma branch layout. The photos I am using were taken at the actual locations. Everything was going fine. I was printing them on my old computer with Windows 7 and Photoshop. Then my computer began to act up so I purchased a new one with Windows 11. Immediately I began having printing problems. A few of the photos print just fine, but most of the photos are cropped in the printing process with a portion of each photo being chopped off each end. I have experimented with various settings, but the problems persist. I even purchased a new Epson printer, but experience the same problem. I would be extremely grateful if someone could tell me what the problem is. I am totally frustrated, unable to make progress with my backdrops. Jared Harper Athens, GA |

Compare the print settings from the ones that are right to the ones that are wrong. Look for what scale they are printing at.

Jared, since you went from Windows 7 to Windows 11, it might be that your software is the problem. You didn't mention what software you are using to print the backdrops. You may need to call the company to find out if there are new drivers for Windows 11. I understand your frustration. It seems to be a problem across the board that companies don't always provide an update when a new version of Windows appears. The only thing we can know for sure is that Windows will change again. There is already version 12 in the 'yard.' Jerry Michels |
