GE covered hoppers

I have several ILDX hoppers to reweigh. However, I’ve only seen them in the new paint schemes. What reweigh symbols were used on these cars in the 50s?

Brian,
My apology for this late reply. I have just one ILDX LO photo with repack stencils during the time period of the STMFC.

ILDX 338, reweigh stencils PAR 11-59. The Paul Dunn photo from the Bob Lorenz collection was published on page 91 of RP CYC Volume 28.

The car was built 2-49 by GATC. Richard Hendrickson’s documented list of station symbols for PAR could be one of several locations to include C&O Parsons, Ohio (Columbus). The car also has repack stencils on two lines “RPKD C&O 7-29-59” (stencils are somewhat fuzzy, but readable). In front of the date are 3 letters with “L” as the first digit, but I cannot make out the other two digits. Directly above the repack stencils is “Journapak Lub” to denote the car received Journapak Lubricators.
