Got to watch a Vehicle Loaded into an PRR Auto Box Car
wahsatch
We've a low power TV sta owned by an unusual couple here in Nashville. On their sub-channel 6.4, they air 1/2 hour E/I movies from the 40s thru 60s usually followed by cartoons from the Betty Boop era.
On Monday they aired the loading of a WWII Hallicrafters equipted Army panel truck into a PRR 50ft Auto Box, I presume in Chicago. With both doors open, put the truck nose in 1st, then used a fork lift to lift the rear & just moved it in. Then used the forklift to guide the generator trailer in. Hooked the trailer to the truck. Didn't show blocking the truck to keep it from rolling around.

Back in the early 50s I used to DX the air waves with my Heathkit receiver - couldn't afford a Hallicrafters. My buddy in VA had a newspaper route & had a German Grundig - the best then. But getting up @ 4A to deliver newspapers - my Heathkit did fine....
Oh, these films are a "Jam Handy" production.
There was 2 1/2 hr films by Wurlitzer & their BuffaloNY plant building their New postwar JukeBox - made their own plywood & even nuts & bolts - rows & rows of screw machines. The machines played 78s - 33s not available. The wood for the case came bundled in box cars about 1.5 ft in diameter & about 6 ft long. 2 guys were unloading the bundles of "sticks".
Ck'd to see how many Jam Handy films are around - many. But free?

Brian,
I doubt if it is on Xfinity - it's old fashioned - over the air Low Power WRTN [formerly WKRP]. I think the E/I are broadcast @ 9AM & other times [station too lazy to provide a schedule] - I usually watch the PerryMason reruns then go to 6.4 You'll probably need a cheap digital antenna. Be able to get all of the LPs in Nashville - over 50 sub channels. Should have a coax jack on the back of your TV for external antenna. Here in Hendersonville, I get over 80 sub channels - pain in the butt to rescan & elim the unwanted....
