It's really quite fascinating.  A lake frozen hard enough that multiple cars were driven out on it. but it's the harvesting that is interesting.


How they did that.

There is a similar film showing harvesting of ice on Green Bay and transportation to ice house storage, for later use in rail and other industries.  Don't think it could be done these days; many of the lakes and rivers that I recall ice-skating and playing hockey on rarely freeze over.  If you happen to be visiting Green Bay, you can see the film at the Neville Public Museum.
