I received the MoP "Naperville freebee mini-kit" from a friend handling another friends estate last Dec. Finally got around to gluing the pieces on a body then I noticed one on eBay with a bid of over $50...Shoulda procrastinated another day or two...I uses a subsidiary's initials. Have no idea what they stand for, but something different than MP. Weathering is Pan Pastels
The Mathers car is an old Sunshine yellow resin kit. I would guess by looking at the box it's had several owners over time. It finally found one that'd built it! The kit had an envelope with cast diagonal channels with Mont's name on it. I used them. Weathering is a craft paint washed using Windex and a bit of Pan Pastels. Clark Propst |

The Muncie& Western sister car had to have strip styrene glued to the side to form the channels. It was one of my first builds.

Clark, St.LB&M is Saint Louis Brownsville and Mexico, affectionately called the Brownie. Part of what was collectively called the Gulf Coast Lines part of the Missouri Pacific. All the subsidiaries were merged into the Missouri Pacific in 1956 when the MP finally came out of receivership which started in 1933. Jerry Michels |

Nice work on those, Clark!
I’ve got a Sunshine 36-foot Mather box car kit among the moving boxes. I should put that onto my 2023 model build queue.

Built these after the last two. They're a labor exchange for having sound installed in an SW1 for me. I thought about just slapping brake rigging from a plastic kit under the M&StL car and did use some bits, but beings it seems these XM1 cars had a third brake lever it wasn't that simple. I left the painting and decaling of the CGW car to it's owner. The M&StL car was painted with Tru-color CNW BCR and Speedwitch decals made specially for this model.I gave them a shot of gloss coat. I didn't add any reweigh or repack dates, leaving that to the owner.
This time I'm doing a newer F&C one piece body...Nice change ; )) Clark Propst |

I just finished the F&C one piece body kit. It's a Pennsy X37b door and a half 40' box car with Superior doors. I thought they were very nicely done castings. Then I pulled out the decals it was the same old (I mean old like Walthers decals old) piss poor lettering. I cut the ones for one side out anyway, wet them and laid them on the model when I went to slide them off the paper they broke up. I just bought the kit last summer at St Louis.
Does any one have a suggestion for a better decals for this particular model??? Thanks Clark |

For any (almost any) PRR F&C kit I just buy John’s set. He has replacement decals for most. Brian J. Carlson On Mar 6, 2023, at 4:50 PM, Clark Propst via groups.io <cepropst@...> wrote:
