New paint bottles
I’ve been off the list for a few years, getting involved with some other issues, not model railroading related. But I am happily getting back to building things in HO scale, including a few freight cars.
Years ago, Bill Welch posted a source for obtaining new, empty, Floquil-equivalent bottles. I promptly bought around 20, maybe a couple dozen bottles, in two sizes, both using the same caps (and not incidentally, fitting my Binks airbrush.
I carefully saved that information in a very safe place. So safe I cannot find it.
I’ve tried to figure out what bottles would serve, but there is a rather bewildering array of bottle sizes, and the threads on the bottles and caps come in a wide variety of pitches.
I am in need of new clean bottles. I searched the list archives tonight for a couple of hours, without success. Anybody have information on where one can buy such bottles?

Look around on this website to find the supplies you need. I really like the Model Flex paint and the Badger line of air brushes and other items.

That link is taking forever to resolve. Searching the site for G080 resulted in this page. https://www.containerandpackaging.com/products/62/glass-packer-bottle/G080

THANKS very much, Fred. I got another link, off list, for this same note, and maybe I can get what I want from this link. I will talk to the company this leads to and see if they can provide a 2 oz. bottle, which I believe is the size Floquil used back in the day. I need for that because I know that will fit my Binks airbrush.
Yeah, yeah, the Binks company no longer makes airbrushes in useful for modeling size (but they do much larger equipment today). But I have used my Binks Wren since about 1974, and am asked what kind of brush I use, because the questioner wants to emulate my results, so . . .

Good method, Mark.
I have done similar things for renegade bottles, but what I am seeking is NEW bottles. I mix paint to get colors not otherwise available and also for thinning paints that need to be thinned to successfully airbrush. I’ve used all but a couple of the bottles I bought “back when I knew where to order them,” but as I have mentioned, the information to do so has been stored in an exceptionally safe place in my computer. So safe I cannot find it.

I make any bottle fit my Binks bottom feed airbrush by drilling whatever holes are required to mount one of the lids to the Binks paint suction fitting. I have made longer suction tubes from copper tubing for deeper bottles. A piece of silicon tubing pushed onto the existing tube would probably work and be easier.

They have 2, 1, and ½ ounce sizes. And larger, too.

Schuyler, I believe the standard round Floquil bottles were 1 oz bottles. I would love to find a dozen or so of them. I can't buy 240 plus caps.

The poly-seal is the key in my opinion. Those old Floquil bottle caps have a fragile liner that deteriorates
with multiple opens and closes and eventually fails. And then the paint polymerizes in the bottle. These caps
and the Tamiya caps are poly-seals and are utterly reliable and do not deteriorate. And plastic bottles of
any kind are awful -- the best seal is achieved with a glass bottle and a poly-seal cap.

Presumably all the PP plastic lids won't work. It may be possible to recover the seals from empty/dead Floquil bottles or just reuse the lids. Now I know why I've been saving them.
To Bill Pardie, if the siphon on your lid is not metal, some airbrush suppliers sell lengths of siphon material which you can cut to work in your bottles. IIRC Badger is one of them.
