[Non-DoD Source] Re: [RealSTMFC] Image of PMcK&Y 63449 hopper at coal mine

My friends and I have been discussing the Harrisburg trove, and agree a lot of this smacks of Pittsburgh traffic, specifically Monongahela Division.  These cars, in those mixes, showed up in Pgh frequently, in the bituminous and steel trade, and that mix is so familiar it gave us all déjà vu.

B&O was a frequent visitor to West Virginia, one big conduit being the jointly-owned Monongahela Railway, with PRR and P&LE.

P,McK&Y was a big owner of hoppers as well that served the mines in the Monongahela Valley, and it was only in the fifties that most of their reporting marks disappeared into the P&LE fold.  That is a fabulous pic!

Thanks for all this guys, it has been an interesting week!

But it was a great shot of some B&O hoppers!
