[Non-DoD Source] Re: [RealSTMFC] Rapido USRA Single Sheath Boxcar announced

Andy;

There are always a lot of typos in these early phases.

I don't know that we are at the point we can verify for sure, but it looks like a 2D-F8, 50-ton version, at this point. The team is still digging.

Speaking of typos, has anyone ever seem a photo of the "12DF8" truck advertised as being under the Rapido GLa? 😉 It could carry one hellava load but probably had problems on curves.

Yes, a typo. Ugh.

Thanks for the clarification.

I think Ralph had a typo in the Pennsy car class. The USRA single-sheathed boxcars were the X26 class on the PRR.

Hi Gerald, et al.,

Rapido is offering the PRR X36, aka USRA single sheathed boxcar, with both Youngstown and Creco doors. The website, however, shows the six car sets of both versions will have the same six car numbers. I hoping that changes.

Eldon,

I probably should have emailed Rapido a long time ago rather than just laugh at their booboo on this list. But it still appears on their website :
https://rapidotrains.com/products/ho-scale/freight-cars/ho-scale-gla-hopper under the list of features.
