ORER search 1937-1944

Can anyone with an ORER between 1935 and 1944 assist me with a search for RICX Rustless Iron & Steel Co. hopper cars?

Ian Cranstone's nakina.net tabulation says it should be there, but I can't find it in either my 1/38 or 1/40 editions. ?????

Not finding the name or the reporting mark in January 1939 or April 1941.
It's possible the owner of the mark did not choose to submit info to the ORER folks. Ed Edward Sutorik

Nothing under Rustless Iron in the "R" sections of the January 1938 and January 1943 ORERs. Could it have been a subsidiary or a division of another company and therefore listed under that name (which apparently does not start with "R"). Richard Townsend

Ian Cranstone’s list of reporting marks show it was used by Rustless Iron, but he also points out that nothing was listed in the ORER’s.
(Ian reviewed many, many ORER’s to build his database and we are the beneficiaries. Thanks, Ian!)

The Operating Section of The Operating-Transportation Division of The Association of American Railroads was charged with assigning reporting marks from 1934 forward.

Guy is correct. I have a copy of a letter that granted Grace Tank Car line their reporting marks. I'm not at my main computer to access it right now and it was likely predecessor ARA given the authority as the company was active earlier. If of interest I will post it later. Charlie Vlk

Late to the party, with little to add, but something. I checked my Jan & April 43 and Jan & Oct 45 ORERS and RICX is listed in the list of Marks assigned private car owners in all four editions. Unfortunately all four listings bear the Maltese Cross mark that indicates that cars bearing these marks not registered in this issue of the ORER.
