Do you think the ends on this PFE reefer are oxide-red, or is this a problem with the photo/scan that just makes them look oxide-red? The car appears to have a 1960 paint date, so it's not faded or heavily weathered. -- Tim O'Connor Sterling, Massachusetts |

Tim. It is black. Look at the color of the PFE lettering on the car side. It is an "oxide" shade too. Must have been the photo color process. Rich Christie |

Note that the lettering also appears red. I suspect a photo scan variation.
