Excellent photos Ted! Good lighting really helps in a display room! :-)

Alan Chilcote of Plate C Models displayed several exceptional models. His model of a gondola with a scrap load is one of the best scrap loads that I have ever seen. I recognize many brass trimmings and lathe turnings in the mix. If Alan is in this list I hope he might elaborate on this load. The deck on his flat car is also outstanding. His Plate C detail parts for drop shaft brskewheels for flat cars also fly under the radar.Bill Pardie-------- Original message --------From: Ted Culotta <speedwitchmedia@...>Date: 3/29/23 2:35 AM (GMT-10:00)To: RealSTMFC@groups.ioSubject: [RealSTMFC] Photos from RPM EastI took a bunch of photos from the display room at RPM East. We need more of his age group in the hobby.
HIs WM well flats kits from Plate C Models are very well done. Here is one I did (although decaled for the 1970's), the decal set made for this resin kit includes original marks for 1952 and a repaint in 1972, as well as the COTS era.
Thanks for the correction, Bob. I also noticed Adam’s name as I prepped photos for my RPM-East gallery this afternoon.

Setting the record straight: it is Adam Chilcote, not Alan. He is a superb modeler and 3D resin guru.

He also had some solid bearing trucks with opening journal covers at CORPM last year.
Thanks!

Adams trucks are excellent. He produced Chrysler trucks that are just stunning, and very necessary if
you're modeling any of that batch of General American box cars represented by the Branchline model.
He's done a number of other interesting and useful trucks too (e.g. Scullin LV used on some SP freight
cars)

Thank you all as well for the praise! I can't take credit for the scrap load, that was done by Larry Lawler. He used some machining waste among the bits that make it up. It hides the fact that I used the wrong floor Tangent kit to build that car...
I recently switched to a new resin for trucks, much more durable. When I tried some of the trucks with opening journals, the hinge is simply too thin for that material. After all, it's only .030" wide! I think I can get it to function again without too much trouble.
