the L&N gondola is one of 1000 composite gons that closely copied the RR's original 1000 USRA cars. The main difference is there is no flat diagonal straps on the end panels and they had cast sidearm trucks instead of the USRA Andrews trucks. Both obviously easily modeled in HO using the InterMountain kit and in "O" using the ex-IM now Atlas model. The were BCR in color, sort of reddish-brown. The composite construction persisted into the mid-1950's.
