Bill,
I got the same. I, too was confused and thought about asking publicly
if there are other receivers. Now you came first - proving that it's
scam/ their account had been hacked.
I had direct contact with William 2 or 3 years ago (via this account
where we just got that §!&$/% from), I purchased some parts because
he still had/ has an inventory, last year I emailed him again but
didn't get a reply.
I don't know if he still is with us, but I really hope so!
Greetings
Johannes (still unable to write directly to you, so please don't
wonder...)

I am not aware of his ever e-mailing anyone and the title sounds like a fraud.

Although this is a fake, similar e-mails could be from a relative reaching out to sell what's left of a model RR business.
Anyone else do business with trader Art in Olmstead, Ohio? I did and visited him once when I worked in Cleveland (1981).
Art would order items from Walthers and give customers a 20% discount off of list. He sold a lot o brass too.
Art lived in a very large house (maybe with some people not his relatives) but he had his model business in an electrified shed.
I bought a lot of kits from Art including a couple I saw in the shed..
About 10 years after I visited him I got a letter from someone liquidating Art's business. He offered me 100+ freight car/caboose kits for $200 which included shipping.
How could I resist? I had neither the space nor desire to keep all those kits but I kept 10 or 12 and sold the rest to a man in Florida who sold old kits. I received around $200 so I got the kits I kept for free.
I'd send a letter to Bill's old address and see if anyone replies..
