One thing I found useful, I would save old artist brush handles for sanding sticks. Being hardwood, round, and tapered a variety of sizes were possible and when cut at an angle the resulting ovaloid shape was perfect for reaching in between rivets.

Also they make all sorts of nail files in many different grits, and they are cheap.
