SFRD color

Paul Doggett

Hi Group

Is Trucolor 842 flat reefer orange a good match for SFRD orange. As this and Badger are the only paint I can get in the U.K.

Many thanks

Paul,

In September of last year, we had an extensive discussion of SFRD yellow/orange. The first issue for you is that you need to clarify era. Pre or post 1955? The pre-1955 color is more on the yellow side. Years ago I believe that Andy Sperandeo told me to use Maine Central Harvest gold for the pre-1955 color. I see that TruColor has Maine Central Harvest yellow listed as TCP-103. The color swatch looks pretty good.

Bruce

While I can't ship outside the US, I do have Floquil MEC 110147 on the shelf if others are looking for another option.
