What is foobie about this Sunshine M&W boxcar? |
||
|
||
It is not a Sunshine model. Note the cast on grabs, ladders, sill steps, etc. The door has claws, big, big claws. Someone has put a cheap plastic kit in a Sunshine box. I see the seller has ended the sale because there was an error in the listing.
A good reminder to always check what is inside the box. And look closely at details.

I have purchased a couple of things from them. It can go the other way too, a good deal because they don’t understand what they are selling. I got a brass car cheap. Probably estate items.

Agree to both sides of the fence. Get it via estate sale. Sell for a slight markup to get your money back. Little research on the inventory. Just want your money back plus some.
Do the research, some with value, others to the the round (trash) file. Awhile back someone wanted my opinion on some Bachmann rolling stock. Told them shipping will be more than the cars. Of course they got mad and the reply was, "It's old stuff". Yea, but old doesn't make it valuable. CHECK THE AUCTION SITES, Duh! Reuben @ Poplarville, Ms |

Here’s one I saw recently:
$1,800.00 listing for a Branchline Blueprint boxcar kit…Notice the price sticker…$18.00…
The seller later re-listed it for $10.00, but it didn’t sell at that price…

Interesting double standard going on here. A seller taking advantage of a buyer's ignorance is cause for outrage, but a buyer taking advantage of a seller's ignorance is worth bragging about.

Tom, in business law, a seller's item must be as described when it is purchased, otherwise the seller can return it for a refund if they so desire.
As far as I know, no legal statute exists which states that a buyer must describe the item they purchase to the seller if the seller is misinformed. -Phil Lee |
